Keith Rothfus' Background
Keith represented a significant part of Western Pennsylvania in the United States House of Representatives between 2013 and 2019. Rothfus served as a member of the House Financial Services and Judiciary Committees and in 2015-16 was also a member of the House Freedom Caucus.
During his congressional career, his legislative initiatives that became law included regulatory relief for community financial institutions, consumer choice for seniors on Medicare and the opioid crisis. Prior to entering Congress, Mr. Rothfus established the Center for Faith-based and Community Initiatives within the Department of Homeland Security during the administration of President George W. Bush.
For most of his career, Mr. Rothfus, a graduate of the Notre Dame Law School, worked as an attorney in Pittsburgh, with a particular focus on internet law and commercial transactions. Keith and his wife Elsie are the proud parents of six children. Keith is now engaged in board and nonprofit work and continues to be involved in the political process through counseling candidates, fundraising, public speaking and writing. Keith is also active in the presidential campaign of his former House colleague and friend Governor Ron DeSantis.
